Medical office construction in Dallas and Plano
Clinics, dental suites and doctor's offices with the plumbing, sound control and shielding they need.
Lead-lined and acoustical walls are part of our in-house scope

What goes into a medical office build out?
Medical and dental finish outs need more than nice walls: plumbing in exam rooms, quiet walls between patients, cleanable floors and, for X-ray, lead-lined walls. AllTex Construction builds medical, dental and doctor's office interiors in Dallas, Plano and DFW, with our own crews on framing and finishes.
Who it's for
Physicians, dentists and specialists opening or moving a practice, and landlords preparing medical-ready suites.
Who it isn't for
Hospitals and surgical centers with licensed operating rooms need a healthcare-specialist builder. We focus on clinics, offices and dental suites.
What we build into a medical suite
- Exam and treatment roomsSinks and plumbing in each room, coordinated with our licensed plumbing partners.
- Sound controlInsulated walls, acoustical ceilings and sound-absorbing finishes for patient privacy.
- Imaging roomsLead-lined gypsum board installed to the shielding design for X-ray rooms.
- Cleanable finishesSeamless and resilient flooring, durable wall finishes and solid casework.
- Accessible designBuilt to the Texas Accessibility Standards, with registration and inspection when required.
What makes a medical finish out different from an office?
An office needs walls and data. A clinic needs walls, data, a sink in nearly every room, privacy between rooms and floors that survive daily disinfecting. Imaging rooms add lead shielding, and dental suites add the lines that run to every chair.
Those items are cheap to plan and expensive to add later, so we walk the equipment list with you before we price anything.
- Plumbing rough-in at exam rooms, labs and sterilization
- Sound-rated walls and acoustical ceilings for privacy
- Lead-lined gypsum board for X-ray rooms (09 2960 in the spec)
- Resilient, seamless flooring that handles cleaning chemicals
- Dedicated power and data for equipment and charting
Texas accessibility review for medical suites
Texas requires many commercial projects to meet the Texas Accessibility Standards. Projects at or above $50,000 in construction cost are registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, reviewed and inspected. Medical suites get extra scrutiny on restrooms, exam rooms and door clearances, so we build those details in from the first layout.

Questions people ask us
How much does a medical office build out cost?
Medical build outs cost more than general office space because of plumbing, shielding and equipment. Texas medical tenant improvement allowances commonly run about $40 to $80 per square foot. AllTex prices your suite in writing after walking your equipment list.
Do medical offices in Texas need accessibility review?
Most do. Projects with a construction cost of $50,000 or more must be registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, reviewed against the Texas Accessibility Standards and inspected when complete.
Can AllTex build lead-lined X-ray rooms?
Yes. Lead-lined gypsum board is part of our in-house Division 9 scope. We install it to the shielding design your physicist or equipment vendor provides.
Do you build dental offices?
Yes. Dental suites follow the same process as our other medical work, with extra planning for the plumbing, air and power that run to each chair.
